Mirror Sailing Dinghy
The Mirror is the classic family sailing dinghy, ideal for both cruising and racing. Many have started their sailing careers in the Mirror, first sailing with their parents then with other juniors. Some have gone onto be champions and even win Olympic medals. The UK class association organises a comprehensive programme of training and racing for all abilities and ages. For youngsters with aspirations to race at the highest level, the Mirror is a recognised RYA Junior Training Class. Inland and National Championships regularly have 100 entries or more. The Mirror is an ideal stepping-stone to the International 420.
The Mirror is one-design; the boat itself is 3.3 m long, weighs 61.3 kg (all up) and has a sail area of 6.5 m2 (10.9 m2 with spinnaker).
