Cadet Sailing Dinghy

cadet sailing dinghycadet

The Jack Holt designed Cadet is the only RYA supported three sail two person symmetric spinnaker dinghy. Crews start at age 8 or 9 helm at 12 or 13. The Cadet is a true international class with licensed builders in nine countries. Inland and National Championships regularly have 100 entries or more. The Cadet is an ideal stepping stone to the International 420.

The Cadet is one-design; the boat itself is 3.2m long, weighs 61.2 kg and has a sail area of 4.55 / 4.65 square metres. For many years all Cadets were made of wood but the latest models are made of GRP
We can supply complete, fully-fitted boats that will be competitive at the World Championships. We specialise in Blueblue and Lenam, but can source boats from other manufacturers such as Nautivela and Ziegelmayer.
